Welcome to the Lightfoot Chronicles!
In case you’re not familiar with the Magical Bakery Mysteries, they feature me, Katie Lightfoot. Shortly after I moved to Savannah, Georgia to start up the Honeybee Bakery with my Aunt Lucy and Uncle Ben, I learned that I’m a hereditary hedgewitch. You can find the story of how I came to terms with that revelations, along with how I solved the murder of one of our customers, in the first in the series, Brownies and Broomsticks.
In the meantime, I’ve sure had a lot to learn about magic. I thought it would be fun to share some of that journey right here, a couple times a week. Along the way I’ll introduce the other members of my Spellbook Club and ask them to post about some of their magical specialties, including spells and tarot, charms and potions, divination and moon magic. And, of course, there will be plenty about my own special talents for herbal, garden, and kitchen witchery. You know – as I figure out what I’m doing…
As for the title of this post: I’m not so lame as to wish you a regular Happy New Year twenty-three days after the fact. No, today, January 23, 2012 is not only a new moon, but also the beginning of a whole new lunar year.
New moons are a great time to launch new endeavors. The energy of intentions, spells and wishes grows as the moon waxes to full. And we all tend to at least think of making changes and new starts at the beginning of a new year.
What better time to launch The Lightfoot Chronicles?
So here’s wishing your hopes and dreams for the next year come true.
